Post Falls Idaho Factory Outlet Mall is a Ghost Town

I paid a depressing visit to the Post Falls “Factory Outlet Mall” this week while I was in Spokane. This place is virtually abandoned now- just a handful of shops occupy the 50 available spaces. Back in the mid 1990s this place was actually sort of busy, with lots of shops and activity. Over the past 15 years it has become a retail wasteland. I took a short drive around the place to give you an idea of just how desolate it is:

  1. The place looks creepy. No cars, no people over the street. I wonder why that place was never revived and renovated. The video is like a part of a horror film where anytime the serial killer will stab your car's window with a chainsaw or a huge ax. 🙂

  3. Ummmm, you do realize stores close at night right…..
I was there at 2 pm on a Friday and the place was busy. Not swamped, but the parking lot was 3/4 full.

    • Ummm, yes I realize that stores close at night. I also realize that at least 80% of the stores at this mall are empty.

I wonder where all the people that parked in the lot were at, since there is like 4 stores left open there?

  4. I grew up and spent most my life in North Idaho. I remember this place being a booming shopping center. Those she may be dead now she may not be in the future. I have plans to bring her back to life by turning it into a full blown film production school. We are going to teach film acting producing studio special effects so on and so forth. I have the Le School of Film sponsoring this any people will be able to earn a degree in film. I also plan to teach television broadcasting and how to run a TV studio. I also want to drop a public access TV station in there. Generate thousands if not millions of dollars for the city of Post Falls. I am currently a producer now of a television show. I produce the TV show apparitions paranormal. Film Media TV productions has become my life. So hopefully in the near future you will be able to look at the mall and see the new school film. I’ve already named it the Post Falls Academy of Film & productions. I’m currently working on securing the money is necessary to get the project started.

It would be wonderful, if you could start something here, It is a pretty mall, and new homes are being added all the time, we are growing and need a boost, like your project, it sounds great.

  5. the last time I was there the restaurant was busy but most of the mall was empty, one of the people at the restaurant told me that with passports being required to go to and from Canada they lost most of their business as high percentage of customers were from western BC
