Drivers blowing virtually every new stop sign in Arlington, WA

A couple days ago when I was running from my office to get my haircut in Smokey Point I noticed a change on one of the backroads I usually take to avoid the traffic on 172nd. Apparently the city felt that 35th Ave NE needed six stop signs installed on a road that is about 1/8 of a mile long. 

They put up some flags and warning signs, but without flashing lights or something more dramatic people simply don’t notice the signs and are blowing through every single one.  Seems like a natural place for Arlington PD to hang out and write up dozens of citations.
