I’ve always liked to track my vehicle maintenance with my computer. In the past I used a simple excel spreadsheet to to track things. I looked around the app store for something to do it with my iphone and found “gas cubby”, an app designed to track all fuel and maintenance for one or more vehicles. This little app has been super easy to use, and I ended up using it for all my cars, and to track all my fuel use in my Escape Hybrid.
The interface is simple, you enter the mileage, price per gallon and if you want you can enter location and how you paid for the fuel. (I wish the programmers would have an option to use the GPS to simply geotag the fueling location) You can view the summary of refueling from a main screen:
In addition you can view your maintenance log:![]()
The program allows you to set alarms to remind you of upcoming service like tire rotation, oil changes and so on. It will let you know based on your odometer readings.
When you rotate your iphone it generates reports of your fuel use, fuel cost, and a detailed report:
There is a lot to this little program, it will let you sync data to their server to back it up, also allows exporting of data in an excel friendly format. Great app for car guys who are obsessive about maintenance or fuel tracking!
Wish List- Geotaging, ability to embed photos into data entry (for maintenance tracking- a shot of a modification, or change you make to the car would be helpful)
