App review: atomic clock for the iPhone

The built in clock on the iphone is pretty accurate, but I always like to have the most accurate time possible. I found this app in the itunes store yesterday and decided to give it a try. It is called “Atomic Clock” by “Awyse”, it is $1.99 and claims to sync with the nearest atomic clock to show you the most accurate time.

Setup is very straightforward, you simple pick the server closest to you, choos Analog or Digital display and you are in business.

Both displays are very cool looking, each second has a fluid animation that reflects 1/60th of a second on the analog screen, and a horizontal progress bar on the digital display.

It’s a great application for those of us that are obsessive about having the most accurate time available to them. I only wish it would synch with the built in iphone clock and set it, sadly it does not.

$1.99 seems high for such a simple app, but the clean smooth display and simple interface make it work out for me. If you are interested you can download it from the app store here.
