For the past couple years I have been pretty happy with my 1st generation Jawbone headset, it does a good job of canceling ambient noise and has decent battery life. My complaints are the style is a bit clunky, and the first gen Jawbone is just too big compared to what’s out there now. I thought about a Jawbone 2, but after reading some reviews I choose the Motorola Motopure H15 as it’s replacement.
I like the clean, simple design of the H15, the clear earloop is virtually invisible when you are wearing it, and the light is not huge and obnoxiously bright like some headsets. Compared to the Jawbone 1 is it much smaller and does not stand out nearly as much when wearing it.
The H15 comes with several rubber earpieces you can swap out to find the best fit for your ear. After trying a couple I found one that fit snug while not being uncomfortable for long periods.
The controls are simple, volume rocker with indicator light on the top, one button on side to click to answer, and hang up.
The best feature for me is the flip feature- the silver arm that contains the microphone is hinged and when closed turns off the headset, to answer a call you simply flip it open, and in just a half second or so the headset turns on, pairs with your phone and answers a call. This is by far the biggest advantage this headset has over my old jawbone. I would often turn off the Jawbone, get a call and fumble with trying to turn on the jawbone and answer the call. With the H15 it is simple as can be, and happens quickly. Gone are the days of dropping my headset in the cupholder of my car, forgetting it is only to return in a couple days and find it dead.
The call quality is excellent, I think the noise cancellation is slightly better than my jawbone. The volume can be turned up in noisy environments and you can hear your caller easily. My only complaint is the charger- it comes with a micro charger tip, not a standard mini usb tip. Other than that- this is a great headset!
